Government[]

The Kobalian government is a parliamentary democracy, with many different ministries to deal with each aspect of governing. Kobal is also a member of the United Federation of Planets.

Religion[]

Their religion stems from a connection that they have with a mysterious being called Mot'Ta. One of their most cherished rituals is even named after this being. The Mot'Ta ritual involves a telepathic link being created by a device which then also the participants to bond. Kobalians believe this strenghtens the bonds and relationships between people. In 2379, Captain Benjamin Kelsoe of the USS Pioneer participated in a Mot'Ta ritual. ("The Bonding")

One of the most sacred icons in Kobalian religion is a rare blue flower called a Gem'De. Kobalians believe the Gem'De to possess the most beautiful scent in the entire universe. To humans the flower's scent is similar to a pile of festering waste, remarking such a belief is consider an insult and a crime on Kobal.

Physiology[]

Kobalians look much like humans, except they have no eyebrows. Where the eyebrows would be on a human, Kobalians have small black horns that look like shark teeth. Their ears are similar to those of the Vulcans and Romulans. Their overall appearance is a friendly one. Most appear to be weak and fragile, which they are for the most part. They are very thin. Their hair is light and thin, and various in color depending on age.
