Lee Kelso was a Federation Starfleet officer on active duty in the mid-23rd century.

Early life[edit | edit source]

Kelso's parents died when he was very young, and he was raised in an orphanage in Los Angeles. (TOS novel: My Brother's Keeper trilogy: Constitution)

Among Kelso's interests were Egyptology. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

Starfleet[edit | edit source]

Upon graduation from Starfleet Academy, Lee Kelso was posted to USS Lexington as a helmsman, where he served many years, then transferred to the USS Potemkin. (Constitution)

As a lieutenant junior grade, Kelso served under James T. Kirk during Kirk's first command, aboard the destroyer USS Shenandoah, in 2264. (Orion Press: "Spider's Lair")

Kelso had transferred to the USS Enterprise by the time of its mission to the galactic barrier. He was strangled by power cables telekinetically manipulated by Gary Mitchell after Mitchell's esper abilities were enhanced by the barrier. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
