Loknar-class frigates were a class of starship on active duty in Starfleet during the 23rd century. (FASA RPG: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)

In appearance, the class had a saucer-shaped primary hull similar to that of the Constitution-class, albeit with twin warp nacelles mounted on pylons above the primary hull.

The Niven-class light attack cruisers bore a resemblance to this class. (Reischl's Guide to Ships of the Fleet).

The ships' names were derived from Federation colonies and cities. Many of the Mark I Loknars saw action during the Four Years War. (Federation Ship Recognition Manual, Vol. 1)

Many, if not most, Loknars had all-Andorian crews, which led to the nickname of the "Blue Fleet".

The Phobos-subclass frigates of the late 23rd and early 24th centuries were derived from this design. In different continuities, they were designated as torpedo cruisers and perimeter action ships. (Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, Starship Deimos, Ship Recognition Manual: U.S.S. Phobos NCC-60600)
