Lorraine Baines McFly (nee Lorraine Baines) is the wife of George McFly and mother of David, Linda, and, Marty McFly. Like George, her future would be altered at least three times by Marty's temporal incursions.

Lorraine liked the attention of boys when she was in school, and lots of them were attracted to her, including both George McFly and Biff Tannen. Lorraine was not afraid to get what she wanted and often parked in cars with them. Lorraine could stand up for herself, and liked her men to be strong and able to protect her. She had a tendency towards nostalgia: thinking back to the "old days". She was also prone to often telling the story of how she met and fell in love with George.(Back to the Future Trilogy)

Original timeline[]

In the original timeline, Lorraine would meet George McFly shortly after her father, Sam, hit him with the car in 1955. A week later George would ask Lorraine to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance where they would share their first kiss. They would be married at some point thereafter and have three children. By 1985, Lorraine had turned to smoking and drinking as a result of depression because George was unable to stand up for himself.

Thanks to Marty's first temporal incursion, however, her future changed for the better. She was happier after Marty's first temporal incursion and George was able to stand up for himself.

Biffhorrific Hill Valley[]

Marty's second temporal incursion resulted in the creation of an alternate 1985. In this hellish reality, after George McFly was murdered by Biff Tannen, Lorraine wound up married to him. This marriage was clearly a match made in hell, as Lorraine was kept as a trophy wife with only alcohol for company.

Marty's third temporal incursion sought to prevent this hellish reality and supposedly this timeline did not come to pass. However, neither Doc Brown nor Marty had anticipated fully the concept of a multiverse and this version of reality continued to exist, rearing its ugly head a second time. Encountering the Voyager away team[]

Lorraine and George would be visiting their son at the Institute of Future Technology when they would meet members of a stranded away team from the USS Voyager. She would fuss and dote over a recently rescued Marty for a good period of time and strenuously object to his continued pursuit of Biff and Armus. (Star Trek: Voyager - Dark Realm)
