Los Angeles (also known as L.A.) was an Earth city located on the west coast of Earth's North American continent.

In 1996, the crew of the USS Voyager (NCC-74656), thrown back in time, visited Los Angeles. At this time, the headquarters of corporation Chronowerx was located in the city. It also appeared untouched by the effects of the Eugenics Wars. (VOY: "Future's End, Part I", " Future's End, Part II")

By 2024, Sanctuary District A existed in Los Angeles. (PIC: "Assimilation")

In 2047, the Hermosa Earthquake occurred, causing parts of the city to sink 200 meters into the ocean, creating the planet's largest coral reef. ("Future's End", Parts I and II)

The earthquake, and the destruction of Los Angeles, resulted in the abandonment of a trans-Pacific maglev line between L.A. and Hawaii. (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station)

No evidence in canon Star Trek exists that Los Angeles still exists as a city. Events like the Hermosa Earthquake or World War III may have destroyed Los Angeles.

Rear Admiral James T. Kirk took a tube from Gibraltar to Los Angeles Island, and then an air tram to San Francisco in 2273. (TOS novel: Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
