A mala ren was an alchoholic beverage served the bar aboard Narendra Station. A type of champagne, it was red, gave off a green mist, and was considered almost as potent as Romulan ale. One glass was typically enough to render most humanoids fully intoxicated. It was named after Chief Mala Ren of the USS Sally Ride. (Shield of Tomorrow)
