McGill University (Lyran classification: research university) was an university located in Montreal, Quebec, founded in the early 19th century. It was most notable for its medical school, which ranked among the top medical schools on Earth, and, later, the Federation.

William Shatner even had the student center at that university unofficially named after him.
In actuality, the 2012 Quebec student strike marked the first time in the university's history that any department was on student strike for a period longer than a day; in fact, four departments continued striking after Act 78 came into force, with art history graduate students being the only students from the university to make it through the strike until the end.
