"Mission to Dosiania" was the first story written about the USS Shiloh, originally part of Star Trek: Shiloh but later part of the Star Trek: Black Hawk saga.
Synopsis[]
The Shiloh goes to the newly activated Nor-class space station Troubadour Station to pick up its commander, Fleet Captain Helen Pawlowski. The mission is to place telemetry buoys on the outskirts of the Dosiania Parsec, a place where starships have disappeared. However it is found that a hidden planetary system is within the parsec and appears irregularly to disrupt shipping. At the end the planet's inhabitants are defeated and the recovery of a Vulcan ship and an early Federation starship, the USS Rockford, with its still-young crew, is accomplished. Warning buoys are placed instead of telemetry buoys, warning travelers of the trap.
