Nyia Lanjar is a female Betazoid enlisted as a civilian physician in Starfleet, assigned as the Chief Medical Officer onboard the USS Courageous, NCC-41976. (Star Trek: Courageous)
Summary[]
Raised in the healing arts since childhood, Lanjar decided to put her knowledge to use with Starfleet, signing on as a civilian medical officer during the Dominion War, and continued to serve once the war came to a close. Once carefree and vivacious, seeing time as a combat medic has hardened her, and although she is happy to continue serving aboard starships, she longs for some peace from pain. Although she considered retiring from duty and returning to Delta IV where she was raised, she was approached by T'Sara Frost, an old acquaintance to join her on the Courageous. With it being an out of the way assignment, she accepted, hoping it would allow her to conduct more research, her second love since she should not see combat as often as before.
