Onions is a short story by the pseudonymous jespah.
The story is told from the perspective of Lili O'Day, as she works on the Enterprise (NX-01).
On December 24, 2153, O'Day and Chef William Slocum are making dinner for the crew, in preparations for Christmas. Will asks Lili how she celebrated the holiday as a child, and reveals that his mother was Italian.
Lili balks at describing her childhood celebration, only offering bare bones about French dishes they had enjoyed. When pressed, she admits that her parents were killed in 2118, in a house fire (In Between Days: Reversal).
