The Order of the Bat'leth is an exclusive Klingon order of warriors who have distinguished themselves in battle. New members are added yearly in a ceremony conducted by the Klingon chancellor. To be inducted into the order is the highest honour a Klingon warrior can receive. (DS9: "Apocalypse Rising")
In 2271, Ki'TaQ was awarded the Order of the Bat'leth for heroic actions in the Battle of Klach D'kel Brakt, in preventing the deployment of a Romulan bio weapon and finding the cure of the Klingon Augmentation Virus. (Star Trek Online: The Battle of Klach D'kel Brakt).
In 2498, Logan MacLeod was posthumously inducted into the Order of the Bat'leth for the heroic sacrifice of his life to stop a Flaxian assassin at the 2498 Khitomer conference. This marked the first known instance in which both a non-Klingon was inducted and that someone was inducted posthumously. (Star Trek: Prometheus)
