Owen Paris was a Starfleet line and flag officer on active duty in the 24th century. (VOY: "Caretaker", "Persistence of Vision", "Thirty Days", "Pathfinder", "Inside Man"; VOY novel: Mosaic)

Early life[]

Paris was a scion of a distinguished Starfleet family that included his grandfather, Daniel Paris; his father, Michael (nicknamed "Iron Mike"); his aunt, Patricia; a younger brother, Cole (b. 2310); and a son, Tom Paris. Owen Paris's wife was named Julia, and they had two daughters as well: Moira and Kathleen.

The names of Owen's wife and daughters are from Mosaic. A story in Strange New Worlds IV, "Uninvited Admirals" has his wife's name as Lucinda. The latest year he could be born was ten months before his brother's birth. (The Lost Era novel: Serpents Among the Ruins)

As a captain, Paris commanded the USS Venture for several years, ending with the ship's decommissioning in 2355. (USS Venture Sourcebook)

The elder Paris had been Kathryn Janeway's first commanding officer, on the Excelsior-class USS Al-Batani, in the late 2350s. (VOY: "Caretaker"; VOY novel: Mosaic)

Admiral Paris was unable to attend a memorial service five years after Voyager's disappearance in the Badlands, as he was in the midst of negotiations between the Bajorans and the Cardassians. ("Admiral's Personal Log")

In the early 2380s, Paris was commanding officer of Starbase 234. (Star Trek: Destiny novel: Gods of Night)

Alternate continuities[]

"Admiral's Personal Log"[]

Owen has a middle initial, "T" (presumably for Thomas). Owen's daughter's names are Ann and Claire.
