Parasitic Relic

"Parasitic Relic" is the 3rd and final episode of The Unreliable's Light's First Year. This was also both the last story of 2023, but also the first of 2024. It consists of Chapters 14-20 of the original story.

Summary

A disasterous away mission to an abandoned ship sees Devoid incapacitated and a threat arise for the Federation. With no other choice, Sally has to get help from an old friend so the crew of the Unreliable have a chance to defeat the threat.

Trivia

• This is the debut for Wally Darling following his voice-only cameo in the previous episode.
• This episode also works as a pseudo-sequel to Welcome To The Neighbourhood, which shares a main villain.
• The villain itself, the Home Parasite, was inspired by the Silver Blood.
• This is the first episode that shows the love life of Devoid & Sally, with Sally expressing her love while Devoid is unconcious.
• The EMH gets his own quarters as a sort of jab at Voyager for not giving the Doctor his own quarters.
• This is also the first to show a character seen in the prime timeline, that being Tasha Yar.
