Lieutenant Commander Paul Elberg was chief engineer of the USS Valkyrie (NCC-2590) in the 2290s (Star Trek: Valkyrie)

Clause Elberg was Paul's father and himself also a starship chief engineer. (Star Trek: Eagle) The Elberg family lived on the human colony of Alpha Centauri and Paul was raised mainly by his mother with his father away on active duty.

The young Elberg gained early entry into Starfleet Academy, having shown considerable engineering aptitude.

Later he was involved in the early phase of the Constellation-class project at Starfleet Engineering. During this time he also participated in a mission to Stolvez Prime alongside his father's old friend, Zach Banner. (STE: "Agents of Destiny")

Elberg was selected as chief engineer of the Valkyrie during her construction at Copernicus Ship Yards. (Star Trek: Valkyrie)

By Stardate 9958.7, he had left the Valkyrie, after accepting a transfer to the Warp Project at the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. (Star Trek: Valkyrie: "Changes")
