For the prime universe counterpart, see Pavel Chekov.

Pavel Chekov was a Terran Starfleet officer who served aboard the ISS Enterprise (NCC-1701) in the 2260s. He served as a navigator.

In 2267, he mutinied against Captain James T. Kirk after the latter appeared to disobey Starfleet orders to exterminate the Halkans when that race refused to cooperate with the Terran Empire. Kirk, who was actually the captain's counterpart from another universe, defeated the mutineers. Chekov was sent to the agony booth for full duration as punishment. (TOS: "Mirror, Mirror")

Star Trek Continues Edit

Chekov was released from the agony booth around the time the mirror and prime Kirks were restored to the correct universes. However, Kirk learnt of his mutiny and ordered Chekov to be put back into the booth.

When Spock mutinied and gained control of the Enterprise in auxiliary control, Kirk suggested that security chief Hikaru Sulu use Chekov as cannon fodder. Instead, Spock defeated the security guards and Sulu and recruited Chekov, who was surprised that Spock's phasers were set to stun.

After the success of the mutiny, Chekov stayed on as navigator under the new Captain Spock as he sought to reform the Empire from the Enterprise. (Star Trek Continues: Fairest Of Them All)
