Phase cannons firing
Phase cannons were phased energy weapons in use by the United Earth Starfleet in the 22nd century. They were a refinement of plasma cannons, and were later replaced by phasers. Phase cannons were first installed aboard NX-class starships, beginning with Enterprise (NX-01) in 2151. (ENT: "Silent Enemy", et. al)
