Phobos-class frigates (sometimes torpedo cruisers) were a class of starship on active duty in Starfleet during the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. (Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, Butterfly Effect)

A Loknar-class frigate USS Phobos, in FASA's Federation Ship Recognition Manual, vol. 1, had the registry NCC-2786.

The Phobos-class design was similar to that of the Andorian-designed Loknar-class spaceframe. (FASA RPG: Federation Ship Recognition Manual) In appearance, the class had a saucer-shaped primary hull similar to that of the Constitution-class, albeit with twin warp nacelles mounted on pylons above the primary hull. The nacelles were apparently of the type LN-64 or similar.

The standard complement for ships of this class was 200 officers and crew. (Where They Have Gone, We Follow)

Two ships of this class have been seen in fan productions -- USS Gunterman (Star Trek: Of Gods and Men) -- and USS Deimos (Starship Deimos}

Alternate continuities[]

In one continuity, the Phobos class starships were designated perimeter action ships. The primary hull differed from the class in other continuities in that it did not have the cutout at the bow area. (Ship Recognition Manual: U.S.S. Phobos NCC-60600)
