Psychokinesis (also known as telekinesis) involves moving objects mentally (with the mind) instead of physically (with the body or other physical object).
Races like the M'Tar and Na'arbi held the ability to use psychokinesis to move objects. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions)
Some Vulcans in monasteries on Vulcan were known to have this ability as well. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
In 2379, Chivaul, who was a Vulcan master, martial-artist, and Starfleet scientist/teacher, achieved telekinesis and attempted to experiment with it on one of his students. He tested a theory of his that could be described somewhat like "controlled-evolution" by mind-melding with the student, Keth. During the mind-meld, he attempted to use telekinesis to control Keth's cells. Unfortunately, Chivaul had unknowingly encountered an unknown alien during his transit from Boreth, not too long earlier, and a remnant of this alien interfered with the mind-meld. The result was Keth partially transforming (on the genetic level) into an unknown alien creature. (Star Trek: Evolutions)
