A Rabbi is a spiritual and religious leader for Jews, often providing not only prayers and spiritual guidance, but some forms of counseling. A Rabbi is not necessary for Jews to pray. A minyan is only necessary for saying the prayer over the dead, the Mourners' Kaddish.
