Rebecca Sato was the helmsman of the USS Grissom (NCC-638) in 2285.
She was a descendant of Hoshi Sato who served on the pre-Federation starship, Enterprise (NX-01) and the creator of the linguacode translation matrix. Rebecca Sato joined Starfleet due to her interest in deep space exploration and graduated top of her class. She was a gifted musician and singer and could often be found entertaining her crewmates in the rec room. She had a husband, Lieutenant Commander Robert Igoe who served aboard the USS Excelsior, in engineering. At the beginning of the Genesis mission Sato discovered she was pregnant. Sato however enjoyed a brief affair with Dr. Clive Saunders during the course of the Genesis Mission. (Star Trek: Grissom)
Sato was killed in 2285 when the Grissom was destroyed by a Klingon Bird-of-Prey. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
