Lieutenant Commander Samantha "Sam" D'Angelo was a Starfleet officer and Captain Noah Wrightson's first choice for first officer of the USS Cantabrian (NCC-24705).
Wrightson originally wanted her as his first officer when he took command of the Cantabrian in 2369, but she rejected, stating she wanted to ensure the USS Christchurch (NCC-18005) got to drydock safely.
Wrightson knew served with her when he was first officer aboard the USS Christchurch, and it was at the Christchurch's relaunch ceremony where he met up with her again (and, subsequently, asked her aboard a second time as his first officer aboard the Cantabrian).
In 2372, D'Angelo and other crew were waiting for the Cantabrian to arrive at Starbase Expanse 4 when the Myhr'an attacked the starbase from orbit, killing her and nearly everyone else at SE4. Her death greatly upset Turner.
