Rear Admiral Samuel Grissom was a Starfleet line officer and flag officer on duty in the 23rd century. He was commanding officer of the USS Dominion until after the Battle of Vulcan in 2258.
Grissom relinquished his command, and transferred -- along with his spouse T'Meryl -- to Starfleet Academy.
