Sector 021 (or Sector 21) was a sector of space in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Sector 021 was located in an area of space within the Federation with an extreme portion that was part of the Cha'ouw Empire. Because of its unique shape, it was also called Sector Illinois or the Illinois Sector. The sector was home of several planetary systems and a major Federation/Cha'ouw starbase and construction zone known as Starbase Rockford. (Star Trek: Black Hawk)
In 2376, Sector 21 was the location of a transmission beacon with the warp signature of the USS Xena that sent out false signals that the ship was doing okay. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Experimentalism")
