The Shar'tala'veb system is a binary star system located in the Kalandra sector. The two stars were called Shar and Tala and at least four planets were part of the system.
The system had Federation protectorate status and was captured by the Dominion when the Kalandra sector was conquered by the Dominion.
During the Kalandra Campaign the system was the first to be liberated from Dominion control. Cutting off supplies to the Jem'Hadar garrison the Starfleet Tenth Fleet waited until the Jem'Hadar was suffering serious withdrawal before attacking. Lacking any organization and discipline the Tenth was able to liberate the system in under an hour. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)
