Sofia Lynn Larson is a Starfleet officer serving in the early decades of the twenty-fifth century. Her meteoric rise to the rank of Fleet admiral after only being in Starfleet for three years prior to her ascension to the rank was attributed to the accelerated Starfleet Academy training regimen necessitated by the Federation-Klingon War of 2409 by contemporary Starfleet historian Dal R'El.
History[]
Not much is known about Larson's early career until she helped rediscover the long-lost Federation Fleet Station K-13 in 2410. Larson was placed in overall command of the station and was allowed to choose her own flagship, the USS Moonlight SY-3.
In 2411, the crew of the Moonlight SY-3 were forced into hiding when deranged Klingon Chancellor J'mpok placed a bounty on everyone who knew the truth behind J'mpok destroying the diplomatic enclave on Khitomer with a mycelial weapon.
During this time, Larson (seeing the unraveling of the Khitomer Alliance she had helped to build) contemplated taking her own life. But with an intervention by First officer Elisa Flores, Talaxian Ambassador Neelix and Matriarch J'Ula of the Klingon House of Mo'Kai, Larson gathered the courage to rejoin the fight.
Eventually, Larson and her crew (now aboard the prototype starship USS Terunofuji) would assist in the final defeat of J'mpok and the installation of the resurrected L'Rell as Chancellor. For her service to the Klingon Empire, Larson would become only the second non-Klingon (after Admiral Jean-Luc Picard) to be given a statue in the Hall of Warriors. Interests[]
Going back to her (abbreviated) time at Starfleet Academy, Larson has had an interest in the ancient Terran art form known as motion pictures. One movie she saw during her time at the Academy, Hot Stuff, would play a major role in her recovery in the immediate aftermath of the destruction of the Khitomer enclave. Background[]
Sofia Larson is the primary character played by How Movies Saved My Life (and My Sanity) author William "Blissey" Raymer on the PlayStation 4 version of the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) Star Trek Online, whose "Klingon Civil War" story arc inspired the story.
The character was created by Raymer as a version of the character "Princess Sofia" from his 30 Worlds fan-fiction series (see also Golden Voyagers and Masters of the Ultimate Power), which in turn is a grown-up version of the title character from the 2012-18 animated television series Sofia the First. It is for this reason that Ariel Winter, the actress who voiced "Princess Sofia" on Sofia the First, is referred to here as "playing" Sofia Larson.
