Solkar was a Vulcan and the father of Skon, grandfather of Sarek and great-grandfather of Spock. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
In 2063, Solkar was the commander of the T'Plana-Hath when it passed through the Sol system and detected the first warp flight by humanity. Investigating the source Solkar was the first Vulcan to disembark from his vessel and making first contact between Vulcans and Humans. (Star Trek: First Contact; Star Trek: Customizable Card Game)
He later served as the first Vulcan ambassador to Earth. (ENT: "The Catwalk")
