"Someone to Remember Them By" was the eighth "unofficial" episode of Star Trek: Phoenix-X and the sixth "unofficial" episode of the fifth season. - Menrow and his crew, having mind-displacements caused by Wayfar, is a call-back to "Second Life", when he and his crew were transported to the 28th century. His mention of Starbase 001 is a reference to Star Trek: 001.
- Treth was a background character that appeared in Star Trek: Reloaded, who taunted Lei's fighting abilities in Chapter 9.
- Unlike previous "unofficial" episodes, this story covers all three Star Trek Online: Unofficial Literary Challenge prompts from "Someone To Remember Them By", in a three-part story, rather than just one prompt.
