Captain Lewis of Unity Starbase possessed a sonic screwdriver. Another was used by Becky as a dermal regenerator. These devices proved to have many more applications, being used to do anything from destroying control panels, overloading Colonel Green's androids, sealing flesh wounds, connecting electronic devices, activating the TARDIS and Iconian gateways, locking doors, decrypting computers and generating sonic waves.
