Star Trek: Arcturus is the overall title to a series of science-fiction short stories, written by members of the fan-club chapter "USS Arcturus", which take place aboard the Tikopai-class starship USS Arcturus (NCC-1807) during the late 23rd century and the Arcturus-class starship USS Arcturus-A during the late 24th century, in the fictional Star Trek universe created by Gene Roddenberry.
Background information[]
The Arcturus adventures were first written between 1989 and 1993 (corresponding at first to events set during The Original Series movie era and later during the latter seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation), and published in the fan club newsletter Sensor Scan. On occasion, new adventures are still written, with the new stories appearing in Subspace Chatter, the official USS Dauntless newsletter.
The series depicts the adventures of the crew of the 23rd century starship USS Arcturus, who in the 2280s (shortly after the events portrayed in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) unexpectedly found themselves thrust forward in time to Earth year 2367, several months after the events of TNG episodes "The Best of Both Worlds", Parts 1 & 2. Many of the plots deal with the difficulties of the 23rd century crew dealing with the changes a century of time have brought.
