Star Trek: Poseidon - The Birth of the Federation

Star Trek: Poseidon - The Birth of the Coalition is a forum-based RPG series based after the conclusion of the TV series Star Trek: Enterprise. Set aboard an upgraded NX class starship, the Poseidon (NCC-07), it takes place from 2162 onwards, in the aftermath of the establishment of the Coalition of Planets, which has not yet become the Federation.

Origin and Premise

BOTC was started as an offshoot of the RPG Star Trek: Poseidon. Later, the forum was brought onto the same server as STP, where it has remained ever since. The main goal for players of the RPG is to give better coalescence between the end of Star Trek: Enterprise and the beginning of Star Trek: The Original Series.

In the most recent story in the RPG, to address incongruous continuity issues brought about by the last episode of Enterprise, the RPG's rationale was that a new species was doing damage to the timeline, which delayed the formation of the Federation. The next story in the RPG jumps ahead of the last story by one year after time has been repaired, at which the RPG will be renamed Star Trek: Poseidon - The Birth of the Federation.
