The series relies on voice talents from across the globe for the production. The series ran for three seasons and 29 episodes and was followed up by Star Trek: Lost Frontier. It takes place in an altered timeline of the universes of Star Trek: Hidden Frontier and Star Trek: Defiant. Its separate fourth season ran only three episodes before its series creator drinks to death, being replaced by Jim Hamilton for the last two Doctor Who episodes before DP goes on hiatus.
