Star Trek: USS Republic was a roleplaying game set in the Star Trek: Starbase Ranger 8 universe roughly fourteen years after the Dominion War and open to all experienced and novice writers.

The USS Republic was launched from the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards in 2389 and was dispatched on a long-range exploratory mission of the Alpha Quadrant. During the voyage along the borders of the Romulan Star Empire, the Republic was ordered to try and ascertain the reason for the various outposts sudden silence. An ongoing saga of life in the frontiers of space, the story unfolds with various contributors writing their installations showcasing unique characters in dramatic situations, sent via email to a common mailing list.

Star Trek: USS Republic has nothing to do with USS Republic (NCC-1371).

About the sim

The USS Republic, is a highly advanced Sovereign-class starship assigned to Starbase Ranger 8 in the deep reaches of the Alpha Quadrant. Equipped with advanced weaponry, state-of-the-art warp drive, and new sensory technology, the crew of the USS Republic are amongst the best of the best in Starfleet. We are patrolling unknown space, protecting a vital outpost and dealing with powerful new aliens both foe and friend alike. With their sister ship the USS Texas, they are a formidable duo.

The Republic is under the command of Captain Katleen Kirk O'Shannon, recently assigned from Starbase Ranger 8. A distant relative of the Captain James T. Kirk, she continues the tradition of exploration into the unknown.

Because of the current unrest in the Federation and the newly formed Galactic Federation with the Klingons, Romulans, Federation and Ferengi.

Current mainstream story

Captain Bramlett has taken command of the Starbase Ranger 8 and the Republic is commanded by Captain Kathleen Kirk O'Shannon. Together are exploring the unknown territory beyond Federation space and learning to get along with their new crewmates, the mixture of Romulan, Klingon, Ferengi and various other Federation species aboard lends to many new and unexpected experiences.
