Star Trek Expanded Universe's point of view (POV) is that of a character inside the fictional Star Trek universe. Articles about individuals, starships, planet, etc should be written as if they existed.

Instead of
- The USS Starship is a Federation vessel from Star Trek: Fan Fiction
Given that Star Trek spans from the distant past to the far future in most cases articles should be written in past tense. Try to view yourself as a historian looking back at this events at the end of time.
Real world articles[]
Articles about the Star Trek franchise and production (eg. fan fiction, fan films, fan comics, actors, etc.), which are not part of the Star Trek universe are referred to as real world articles since they exist in the "real world".
