This page is considered an official policy on Star Trek Expanded Universe. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that everyone should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the discussion page to propose changes to this policy.

Talk pages allow users to discuss specific articles on STEU. Anyone can leave a comment/question on a talk page and anyone can reply if they can assist. Users are expected to be civil with each other. Remember talk pages are public and everyone can read your comments.

When replying to a comment place the reply under the comment and indent it with a colon (:) for the first reply, 2 colons for the second, etc. This helps separate out individual replies.

So to keep track of who has said what all comments must be signed (– ~~~~), which identifies who has made the comment and when it was made (be aware that the standard time used on STEU is UTC).

If the talk page is already in use it is important to separate new discussions under a heading to separate them from the past comments. It is also helpful to add a heading even when the talk page has not been used.

Removing comments[]

Users are not allowed to remove the comments of other users, unless it is clearly vandalism. Nor can they remove their own comments once it has been replied to. Alternatively a user may strike through a comment if it is no longer pertinent.

If a talk page gets especially long it may be archived by moving it to a subpage, eg Talk:Main Page/archive. Once this is done a link must be left at the top of the page to the archived discussion.
