Name: | Starbase 211 |
Affiliation: | Federation Starfleet |
Class: | Starbase |
Starbase 211 was a Federation facility during the 23rd and 24th centuries.
- In Orion Press continuity, the base was already extant by the 2290s, and located in the Beta Quadrant, near the territory of the Tholian Assembly. (Orion Press: Old Feuds, Insanity's Child, "Shell Shock")
In the 24th century, the starbase was located in the Alpha Quadrant not far from Cardassian space, the Demilitarized Zone and Deep Space 9. It was also the closest base to the Argolis Cluster. (TNG: "The Wounded", "I, Borg", DS9: "Behind the Lines", "The Reckoning")
23rd century[]
After the Starfleet Judge Advocate General's office adjudicated Captain Wolf Klawitter's response to an incursion by the Barrier Alliance as excessive, he was removed from command of the USS Chickamauga and reassigned to a desk job at Starbase 211. (Starship Deimos)
Commodore Daniel Alden was the commanding officer of the starbase in the mid-2290s. (Orion Press: Old Feuds, "Truth and Consequences", "Before the After") In December 2295, Captain Gretchen Jaeger of the USS Alliance interrogated Captain Pavel Chekov and several other officers of the Enterprise-B on recent events that resulted in an interstellar nation-state's being overtaken by the Romulan Star Empire. (Orion Press: "A Winter's Solstice", "Standing in the Shadows", "The Nature of the Game", "Before the After")
In 2300, there were at least five starships homeported at the starbase: USS Deimos, USS Endeavour, USS Marie Curie, USS Tristan, and USS Valkyrie. (Project Potemkin: "Destinies"; Hospital Ship Marie Curie: "The Beast")
24th century[]
Admiral Eugene Alwine was the starbase's commanding officer in 2304. (Starship Webster: "Launch")
- "Launch" depicts Starbase 211 as being an orbital facility similar in design to Earth Spacedock. It orbits a green planet, possibly a gas giant, named Zeta Apodis III, located in Quadrant 9, Sector 72. (The real-life star Zeta Apodis is 297 light-years from Earth.)
USS Caliborn was homeported at the starbase upon its re-activation. ("War Targ")
On stardate 00462.4, the USS Webster was assigned to convey a contingent of Sodainyan diplomats to Starbase 211. (Starship Webster: "Opportunity")
Ships stationed at Starbase 211 would be called to defend DS9 in the event of an enemy attack. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)
In the 2360s, Mary Barranco served on Starbase 211 as a junior operations officer, early in her career. Privateer Corbin West lived on the station at the same time. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "Dark Helix", "Distant Whispers")
The USS Enterprise-D escorted the USS Phoenix to Starbase 211 in, following Captain Benjamin Maxwell's attacks on Cardassian ships and facilities in 2367. (TNG: "The Wounded")
Section 31 had a lab on Starbase 211. In the late 2370s, they housed a mutated strain of Rigelian fever there. In 2383, they conducted experiments with Borg drones and nanoprobes recovered from the Battle of Sector 001. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "Dark Helix", "Distant Whispers")
