Starbase 2 (also known as Starbase 2 Ashoka) was a United Earth facility established in the 22nd century. It was an orbital station of similar design to Starbase 1, and located in the Regulus system. (The Romulan War: The Romulan War (Part 1))
The starbase went on-line in 2160, with a large amount of medical expertise incorporated into its design. (Star Fleet Starship Recognition Manual: Report: Durance Transport)
- In different fan continuities, starbases of the pre-Federation era were distinct facilities from their Federation counterparts. Starbases 7 and 11 are the only known exceptions.
