Starbase 549 was a Federation starbase located in the Gamma Quadrant in 2380. It was built in orbit of Jestra V, the first place in the Gamma Quadrant to have Federation citizens take home. It was commanded by Commodore Gorak.
In 2382, the Starbase took home to more than a thousand new occupants when half of the planet of Jestra V became castrated by the Kei organisms. (Star Trek: Brave New Worlds: "Threads of Fate")
