Shield of the 14th Fleet
The Fourteenth Fleet was a numbered fleet in the United Federation of Planets Starfleet, active during at least the 23rd and 24th centuries.

Dominion War[]
For most of the first year of the Dominion War the Fourteenth defended the Alpha Centauri system. The Fourteenth was dispatched from this duty to go to Benzar's defense after the Dominion struck at the planet in late-2374. Commanded by Admiral Tohas Falanner the fleet came close to defeating the invasion but was defeated by the arrival of Dominion reinforcements. 47 of the 124 ships that took part in the battle were able to retreat. The Cestus sector[]
In 2386, the signing of the Romulan-Gorn trade agreement, the Federation allocated the Fourteenth to the Cestus sector. They named Admiral Vanessa Lucifel as Fleet Commander. Starbase 140, in orbit above Cestus III serves as the staging area of the fleet, as well as the Cestus Naval Yards which were moved to Cestus III after the effects of a powerful shockwave lay waste to the yard at Cestus IV.
