In the Star Trek: Prometheus continuity, in 2379 Starfleet Command made a change to the enlisted officer collar rank insignia changing the pips to a silver rectangle like the style of pip that was used by United Earth Starfleet when the Enterprise NX-01 was launched. Cadet pips were changed to a silver rectangle with black bars to indicate which year the cadet was. Warrant officer pips were changed to a silver version of previous design.

Enlisted, cadet, warrant and commissioned officer rank insignia are worn on the right side of the collar. Flag officer rank insignia are worn on both sides of the collar.
