On stardate 6502.8, then-Lieutenant Commander Denson sent a subspace message of condolence to Erick Minard after the death of Emily. (Starship Valiant: "Minard", "Around the World and Forever")
During his time as chief engineer of the Federation-class dreadnought USS Dominion, Denson was promoted to full commander. He served in this billet under Commodore Samuel Grissom and later Captain Jason Brousseau. (Dreadnought Dominion)
Some time into Brousseau's command, Denson was promoted to Captain of Engineering, by order of Fleet Admiral Parmley. (DD: "The Passenger with Baggage")
