History[]
In 2752, the subspace aliens encountered Starbase 001 and an Alliance battle cruiser when both were knocked into their realm. They communicated through Counselor Othoniel Ephraim Rasin's experimental neural chip and directed him in a way to reconfigure the station so that it would expel it back into normal space. ("Alone")
When Othoniel was at Starfleet Medical, he became witness to Counselor Gowe's PADD which contained highly secretive intel about time travel, an act of his that would break the expected flow of events in which the subspace aliens saw as the Federation falling to the Alliance within two weeks. With said events not happening anymore, there came a fracture of the subspace aliens with some that wanted to kill Othoniel, some that wanted to leave it all alone, and others that wanted to help him. After Othoniel's confinement to quarters per Gowe's plan, one of the subspace aliens took humanoid form as Eric and visited him in order to help. ("When It Rains...")
