T'rasus class

The T'rasus class was a type of starbird that saw service with the Romulan Star Empire during the 24th century. The class entered service in 2357. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 5: Starships of the Romulan Star Empire; The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)

The T'rasus designers drew from the D'deridex-class development project and as such the T'rasus resembles its larger cousin. The main difference apart from the size is that it had a shorter and thicker dorsal connecting interhull and no ventral main hull.

The class was designed for deep space exploration, survey and contact missions, which it was very successful at. It had the honour of discovering more class M planets and making more first contacts than almost all the other types of ships combined. While their primary mission is exploration, they are capable of serving as combatants against the Star Empire's enemies. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 5: Starships of the Romulan Star Empire)
