Flight surgeon billet in what division/department?[edit source]

Arguably, this could be in the same division as helm/navigation/shuttle pilots (particularly if the ship is a carrier) or in medical/life sciences. As with other billets, where this billet is in the Table of Organization may have changed over the years. (See also T'Riono) -- RTS2011RN (talk) 04:20, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

Flight surgeons are surgeons, i.e. doctors. It should be medical. --Kevin W.Talk to me 04:49, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
An argument for command division (in the TOS era) and operations (in the ST II-VII prologue era) is that, as in the 20th-21st century US armed services, a flight surgeon has to have x hours of cockpit time along with being tasked with monitoring and treating the physical and mental health of the pilots. -- RTS2011RN (talk) 05:05, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
But being able to fly is still secondary to the fact that they are a surgeon. Their role is in medicine. --Kevin W.Talk to me 06:08, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
