"Teaching the Next Generation" was the fifth "unofficial" episode of Star Trek: Phoenix-X and the third "unofficial" episode of the fifth season. It was the fifth Star Trek: Phoenix-X entry of the Star Trek Online: Unofficial Literary Challenge and was an entry for the tenth challenge of those unofficial challenges. It was the first unofficial episode to focus on the crew of the USS Hijinx, but the second story since "Hijinx".

Summary

Captain Andrea Reynolds is invited to speak at Starfleet Academy, but finds she is an unwitting agent in a Bluegill sting operation.
