The Road Not Taken

"The Road Not Taken" is a Star Trek Online fanfic by StarSword, set in an alternate timeline version of the Bait and Switch-verse where Kanril Eleya stayed in the Bajoran Militia in 2401 instead of transferring to Starfleet. It loosely adapts the STO mission "Second Wave" and was written for Unofficial Literary Challenge #7: "Skippy's List: Starfleet Edition".

Summary

Captain Kanril Eleya, chief of security for Deep Space 9, is preparing the station for an international conference on the Borg threat. After work, she meets up with her boyfriend Dirin Kos for dinner and they spend the night together.

The next morning she meets the Romulan Republic delegate Morgaiah t'Thavrau before the conference. Later, the Bajoran wormhole opens and hundreds of Jem'Hadar ships emerge. Kanril retrieves the diplomats and they fight their way to t'Thavrau's shuttle and the safety of her warbird RRW Bloodwing.
