To Boldly Go, Part II is the eleventh and final episode of the fanfilm series Star Trek Continues, the conclusion of a two-part finale.

The iconic mission of the USS Enterprise comes to an end, as Kirk and his crew battle the ultimate adversary.

Continuity

• Serving as an account of the end of James T. Kirk's five-year mission, the Continues finale completes the bridge between Star Trek: The Original Series with Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
  • In light of the Enterprise's performance, the Federation Council unanimously votes to re-establish the iconic arrowhead used by the ship as the official Starfleet insignia. (This serves to account for the fact that in TOS different starships and departments had their own insignia, yet in Enterprise and in the films and later series, the arrowhead served as Starfleet's overall insignia.
  • The Enterprise is recalled and to be given a complete refit.
  • Kirk accepts a promotion to Admiral and Chief of Starfleet Operations, and is the first to wear a new Starfleet uniform. Kirk tells McCoy and Spock that the new design will eventually filter down to the rest of the fleet; this recalls how the film Star Trek: Generations saw two different styles of uniform in use as the style used in later seasons of TNG gave way to the design introduced for DS9.
  • Spock takes a leave of action to return to Vulcan, where he will undertake Kolinahr.
  • Dr. McCoy chooses to resign from Starfleet.
