In her role as Director of Public Relations, Tonya Bacon develops and implements Farragut Film' overall strategic public relations programs. She provides direction regarding media relations, community relations, and internal communications. In addition, Tonya coordinates media opportunities and PR activities around events such as industry tradeshows, film festivals, and the company’s own film productions.

Tonya works full-time as a Director with Strategic Communications Group, an integrated public relations firm with an emphasis on technology, satellite, and professional services companies.

She has accomplishments from Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide where she specialized in corporate communications, creative collateral development and message development. Her responsibilities included implementing international, corporate communications programs for Pfizer Inc where programs she managed reached more than 120,000 employees in more than 150 countries.

Tonya has also worked in the legal field as a marketing coordinator for Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman, LLP, where she was responsible for web site developments and content, event planning, and development of internal and external marketing collateral and newsletters.

Tonya holds a master's degree from American University and a bachelors degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. In the community, Tonya has worked as a public speaker for Making It Count, a company, delivering educational, interactive presentations to high school students. She also currently serves as a Board Member and the marketing communications chairperson for the Boys & Girls Club of America, Maryland Region and as a Board Member and public relations chairperson for NAMIC (National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications).
