The UES Yorktown (CVM-5) was launched in June 2158, and was the first of the Yorktown-class of starships. It fought in the Earth-Romulan War and with the Minotaur-class fighter, originated the Yorktown/Minotaur maneuver. (The Starfleet Museum)
Nomenclature[]
The Yorktown was named after the Siege of Yorktown (1781), the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War, on Earth during its 18th century.
