USS Andernach (NCC-3112) was the lead ship and prototype for the Andernach-class battlecruisers scheduled for production and active duty in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. (Ships of the Star Fleet, vol. 1)
Andernach was built in 2292 and underwent trials over the next couple of years.
