History[]

The Bellerophon traveled to Deep Space 9 in 2371 to assist Benjamin Sisko and his crew.

In March 2374, The Bellerophon was one of the 14 of 112 ships to survive the Battle of Tyra, in which it sustained heavy, but not crippling, damage. (Star Trek: Prometheus)

In December 2374, the Bellerophon took part in the First Battle of Chin'toka and several members of her crew participated in the ground assault in the Chin'toka system. (Star Trek: Prometheus)

In 2375, the Bellerophon transported Federation delegates to Romulus for a conference on the Dominion War. (DS9: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges")

In 2375 Bellerophon was part of the attack fleet that participated in the Second Battle of Chin'toka and the Battle of Cardassia and as a result was present at Deep Space Nine for the formal cessation of hostilities between the Dominion and the Federation. (Star Trek: Prometheus)

The Bellerophon was the starship on which Doctor Atana Ral of the Prometheus rose through the ranks from Lieutenant Junior Grade and a mere Doctor to Lieutenant Commander and Assistant Chief Medical Officer which led to her being assigned to the Prometheus as the Chief Medical Officer. Bellerophon was assigned to the Starfleet First Fleet and was in service until at least 2398. It was deployed to Task Force 31. The task force's command base was Station Robert de Bruce. (Starships of the First Fleet; Task Force 31)

Nomenclature[]

The ship was named after Bellerophon, the son of Poseidon and a hero of Greek mythology.
